Opaque, squid ink in color with aromas of ripe plum, date, fig, and dried apricot. Big and concentrated flavors of fruit compote, strawberry, raspberry, blackberry, boysenberry, and plum. This wine has gravitas! The Princess Syrah will age nicely in the bottle.
Foot-stomped whole cluster lightly crushed berries, bring out complexity in the wine. Fermentation at cooler temperatures creates deep dark fruit flavors. We go slow with our fermentations creating smooth textures and stem included fermentations lends itself to more color. 100% Free run wine.
Aging: 30 months. 50% new French oak and 50% new American oak barrels

100% Francisca’s Vineyard Walla Walla.
Planted in 2001, Francisca’s Vineyard Syrah block is only 4.3 acres. The eastern most part of the block is much rarer which is mostly sand. This sub-area of the vineyard produces the clusters we reserve for the Princess Syrah. When we first smell this wine, we smell the joy of life in the vineyard! Resilience, love, hard work and passion!
