"...The flavors are bold, fleshy and deep cored, with layers of dark fruits...Shows elegance throughout, a perfect tribute to Gary."
Gary’s love for wine began in the late 1970’s and included a partnership which became Canoe Ridge Vineyards on the viticulture side in the 1980’s. Gary was instrumental in the creation and start-up of Bergevin Lane Vineyards. When we began our journey, Gary’s relationships with folks in the area, farming expertise and business experience helped us immensely. This wine is an evolution of our journey and is 100% from our Bergevin Springs Estate Vineyard which was planted in 2011. This is land our family has been farming since the early 1900’s! Made from the heart, the 2018 GB3 Reserve is winemaker, Annette Bergevin's, tribute to her father and one of our founding partners, Gary Bergevin and bonus, the wine is enclosed with Origine by Diam’s “green” cork - innovation that respects the wine and our planet.
Tasting notes
Comprised of five of the six Bordeaux red grapes, this classic Walla Walla big red blend is deep dark in color with aromas of black cherry, blackberry, plum, vanilla, and hints of tobacco. Big expressive flavors of blackberry, black cherry, and dark chocolate with silky tannins.

The wine is enclosed with Origine by Diam’s “green” cork that is one of the most innovative, environmentally-sound wine closures that utilizes a binder made from plant-derived polyols and beeswax emulsion. This new technology is the culmination of research that combines permeability (Oxygen Transfer Rate) and the natural environment. It meets the demand of the brand’s customers concerning their premium wines, to create closures with more open permeability while maintaining a long shelf life; suitable for laying-down wines.

"This tribute to founding partner, Gary Bergevin is composed of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Malbec, 5% Petit Verdot, 4% Merlot and 4% Cabernet Franc. It exhibits a deep ruby color and perfumed aromas of wild fruits - blackberries, black cherries, Damson plums - with scents of crushed roses, sweet tobacco, olive tapenade, wild violets and oriental incense. The flavors are bold, fleshy and deep cored, with layers of dark fruits that are infused with licorice root, Swiss chocolate, Earl Grey tea and silty minerals. On the back, the wine invigorates further with sensations of macerated berries, grilled nuts, mocha, cherry liqueur, plum preserves, charcoal, kidskin and moderate oak (37.5% new French, 12.5% new American) all pushing on into an opulent ultra-lengthy spiced (cardamom, clove) ripe tannin finish. Shows elegance throughout, a perfect tribute to Gary."
Annette Bergevin:
Annette Bergevin has been our General Manager since 2002 and has held a more passive role in the winemaking, allowing others to shine. We are now very proud that in addition to her role as GM, Annette is passionately making the wines we all love so much.
"Each year is a transformation, the last few especially, maturing and improving somewhat like aging a fine bottle of wine. Every day becomes a new adventure. I love our wine journey and can't wait to see what tomorrow brings!"
-Annette Bergevin
