Tasting notes

This 2015 Cabernet Franc is magenta in color. Vanilla is the first aroma that shines, dig deeper and bright raspberry notes with a hint of pepper come forward. As you taste this beau1fully polished, medium-bodied Cabernet Franc, you will find raspberry and marionberry at the forefront with appearances from vanilla and chili pepper as well. The smooth tannins make this wine one that can be enjoyed now as well as down the road!

Production notes

Only 4 barrels of this wine was made.  The wine is made from free-run juice. 

Cabernet Franc grapes were hand picked, sorted and lightly crushed into one ton open fermenters.  Two separate yeast types were used and the cap was punched by hand twice per day.  After a 24 day fermentation the free run juice was drained off and the skins were gently pressed.

2015 Bergevin Lane “Paco Franco” Cabernet Franc, Columbia Valley 
Named for Annette Bergevin’s little rescue dog, Paco, this wine packs a lot of flavor. Produced from free-run juice, it shows a deep ruby color and a rich nose of wild raspberries, Bing cherries, Damson plums, semi-dried roses, pipe tobacco, oregano, rubbed sage and smoldering incense. The flavors are generous yet deep and focused, with layers of red fruits that are intermixed with licorice, cocoa powder, roasted coffee beans and earth. On the back, the wine turns chewy textured, with macerated berries, roasted hazelnuts, mocha and pencil lead, followed by a lingering, satisfying slightly grainy ripe tannin finish. 19/20 points.
