Tasting notes

This stunning Viognier is like a visit to a tropical island! Tasty coconut and macadamia aromas precede an implosion of pineapple, peach and pear. The palate tastes of juicy peaches and tangerines with hints of amaretto in the background. The silky  finish returns to layers of ripe, juicy peaches and citrus.

Production notes

Hand Picked grapes were pressed whole cluster. This creates richer,
fuller more expressive fruit flavors. Barrel fermentation, and the use of five distinctly different yeast types
creates complexity, body and a huge spectrum of fruit flavors. Extended aging on the fermentation lees
leads to creaminess and mineral notes. The Idea behind this wine is to create an aromatic, fruity wine with
elegance using tried and true old world techniques.  550 cases were made.

The 8% splash of Roussanne in this blend, contributes to the lovely complexity of the opening aromas. Sweet citrus, honey and tea flavors combine, while keeping the palate light and focused. Complex hints of lemon meringue, vanilla cream and toasted coconut keep it lively and interesting through to the finish.

Wine can be an emotional thing.  No one in the Northwest wine industry recognizes this fact better than Amber and Annette at Bergevin Lane.  Each of their bottlings carries a name that evokes thought and feeling in the wine taster.  Love-Struck Viognier was whole-cluster pressed and barrel fermented before some sur lie aging in neutral barrels.  Tropical aromas of pineapple and pear mingle with hints of hazelnut and lead to a ripe palate of stone fruits and citrus – a pleasing sipper or accompaniment to spicy foods.
